Development of District General Hospital ,Kalutara

- The District General Hospital, Kalutara, being the largest hospital in the Kalutara District, provides healthcare services also for patients coming from the adjacent districts such as Ratnapura and Galle. During the past several years, the number of patients visiting this hospital has increased and therefore, the facilities of the hospital have to be improved in order to provide a quality healthcare service. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to construct a medical ward complex, administrative building, staff quarters and the drugs store, at an estimated cost of Rs.4,121 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
