Providing further relief to the victims of the explosion that occurred on 2016-06-05 in the ammunition dump of the Army Camp at Salawa

- A sum exceeding Rs.359 million has already been released to the District Secretariat, Colombo, for the payments in respect of the houses which were damaged due to the explosion that occurred in the ammunition dump of the Army Camp at Salawa, belonging to the Seethawaka Divisional Secretary's Division in the Colombo District. The proposal made by Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management, to provide compensation for the equipment that had been in the houses and business places affected by this disaster and to construct a temporary common business place, through the Urban Development Authority (UDA), for those who had conducted their businesses in places obtained on rental basis, until such business places are renovated, was approved by the Cabinet.
