Implementation of a country level Intellectual Property Project on Tourism and Culture

- The joint proposal made by Hon. John Amarathunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Hon. S.B. Navinne, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, to enter into a Cooperation Agreement between the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), for the implementation of a proposed Project on 'Intellectual Property in Tourism and Culture” of WIPO, in Sri Lanka, with a view to promoting tourism industry and cultural heritage as well as raising awareness and developing capacities on the use of Intellectual Property (IP) to support the attaining of development goals associated with the tourism industry, was approved by the Cabinet.
