Strengthening of the public transport service in the hilly and rural areas

- With a view to providing a better transport service for the people living in hilly and rural areas, through daily deploying a higher number of buses along the hilly and curvy routes of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces as well as on the narrow roads in the rural areas of other Provinces, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to procure 250 Nos. of 32-35 seater new small buses for the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), was approved by the Cabinet.
