Incorporation of the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Sri Lanka
- The Institute of Food Science and Technology of Sri Lanka functions with the objectives of providing modern technological knowledge required for food production and processing industry in Sri Lanka, improving the quality and safety of foods on a scientific basis in keeping with international standards and bringing the country's food industry up to an internationally competitive level. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to incorporate the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Sri Lanka, through an Act of Parliament, in order to strengthen the operations of the said Institute, was approved by the Cabinet.
