Financial Assistance from the Asian Development Bank for the Proposed Capital Market Development Programme

- With a view to mobilizing financial resources required for the economic development through the capital market of Sri Lanka productively, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Finance, to conduct negotiations to obtain a policy based loan assistance of US$ 250 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for the development an efficient, stable and transparent capital market comprised of a strong, legal and regulatory framework, was approved by the Cabinet.
