Project for the Construction of Thambalagamuwa Police Station

- The Thambalagamuwa Police Station, which functioned as a Police Post to provide public security in the areas of Muthur, Seruwawila and Trincomalee in the Eastern Province and subsequently established as a Police Station in the year 2004, is presently housed, with 155 Police personnel in service, in two buildings obtained on a rental basis, with minimum facilities. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Rathnayake, the Minister of Law & Order and Southern Development, to construct a new building for the said Police Station, in a land belonging to the Police Department, at an estimated cost of Rs.90.4 million, to enable it to provide a better public service, was approved by the Cabinet.
