Establishing Japan-Sri Lanka Joint Comprehensive Partnership (JCP) Secretariat in Colombo and Tokyo

- A declaration on Joint Comprehensive Partnership was agreed upon by the Governments of Japan and Sri Lanka, during the Prime Minister's official visit to Japan in October 2015, covering the sectors of Advanced Agriculture, Science and Technology for Industry, Quality Infrastructure and Regional Development, Education and Human Resources Development and Civil Safety and Security. Accordingly, with a view to facilitating for the purpose, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, for the establishment of Japan-Sri Lanka Joint Comprehensive Partnership (JCP) Secretariat in Colombo and in Tokyo, was approved by the Cabinet.
