Obtaining Membership of International Sustainable Tourism and Eliminating Poverty (ST-EP) Organization

- The proposal made by Hon. John Amarathunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, to obtain the membership of International Organization on Sustainable Tourism - Eliminating Poverty (ST-EP) by Sri Lanka which is proposed to be established under the patronage of UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), with the main objectives of facilitating knowledge management and project development for economic improvement through tourism promotion, undertaking researches and projects for achieving sustainable tourism development through elimination of poverty and contributing for the protection of culture and nature through public‑private partnership, was approved by the Cabinet.
