Construction of the Proposed Dedicated Economic Centre, Vavuniya at Two Places and the Obtaining of Consultancy Services

- The responsibility of selecting a suitable place for the construction of the Dedicated Economic Centre, Vavuniya, in accordance with the Budget proposal 2016, was vested with the District Development Committee of Vavuniya. Considering the representations made by various parties and the necessity of completing the salient construction work concerned within the year by utilizing the relevant budgetary allocations, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harison, the Minister of Rural Economy, as per the recommendation of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM), to construct two Dedicated Economic Centres at Mankulam in the Mullaitivu District and at Mathauwaithakulam in the Vavuniya District, instead of one Dedicated Economic Centre, was approved by the Cabinet.
