Strengthening the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms

- With a view to effectively implementing the decisions, programmes and processes related to the reconciliation process, the 'Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms (SCRM)' was established towards the end of year 2015, in accordance with a Cabinet decision. The SCRM is tasked with the design and implementation of Sri Lanka's reconciliation mechanisms. Furthermore, this Secretariat acts within the Sri Lanakan reconciliation process as the intermediary body that facilitates between policy makers and policy implementers. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe, the Prime Minister, to obtain human resources and funds required for this office, was approved by the Cabinet.
