Obtaining Additional Financing for the Local Government Enhancement Sector Project (Pura Neguma) Project

- The proposal made by Hon. Faiszer Musthapha, the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, to take action for the provision of safe drinking water to the relevant areas in the districts of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa in the North Central Province, Matale district in the Central Province, districts of Badulla and Moneragala in the Uva Province and districts of Puttalam and Kurunegala in the North Western Province, where the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKDu) is mostly prevalent, to improve the infrastructure facilities and the basic service delivery at Provincial Levels on priority basis and to maintain the reforms and capacity building activities of all the Local Government Authorities which fall within the purview of the project, at a sustainable level, under the Local Government Enhancement Sector Project, at an investment of US$ 67.84 million provided by the Asian Development Fund (ADF) and the Government of Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
