Provision of New Infrastructure Facilities for the Regional Courts

- Most of the Magistrate Courts and District Courts located in provincial areas / out of Colombo are housed in very old buildings with minimum facilities and due to that reason it has become difficult to conduct the process of administration of justice without obstructions. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice, to construct new buildings for Courts situated in the areas of Gampola, Ruwanwella, Mullaitivu and Passara and also to establish a Circuit Magistrate's Court at Mankulam, at an estimated cost of Rs.1,172 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
