Developing an integrated Rural Development Mechanism

- The proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremasinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to establish a Steering Committee comprising of Secretaries to the Ministries of National Policies and Economic Affairs; Finance; Home Affairs; Rural Economy; Provincial Council and Local Government or their representatives, for the to implementation of an integrated rural development mechanism, avoiding shortcomings such as the lack of coordination, duplication of work, overlapping of functions that may arise in implementing the Rural Infrastructure Development projects by various Ministries, was approved by the Cabinet.
