Granting of State Lands to the Landless War Heroes

- Various Welfare projects were implemented in accordance with the state policy of looking after the deceased, missing and disabled war heroes of the Tri Forces, the Police Department and the Civil Security Department, who were engaged in active service to defend the sovereignty of Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the policy of granting a block of land for them for their settlement, in terms of the State Land Ordinance is being already implemented and the proposal made by H. E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to provide further relief to the war heroes who contributed immensely to the successful conclusion of operations, making necessary amendments to the methodology of granting State lands, to overcome the existing shortcomings, was approved by the Cabinet.
