Holding of the Asian Food and Agri Business Conference of the Asian Productivity Organization in Sri Lanka

- The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) was established as a Japan based International Organization in 1961 and its objective is to enhance the productivity in the industrial and agricultural fields of the member countries. 20 countries in the Asian Pacific Region have obtained the membership of the said organization and Sri Lanka is also a member. This Organization has decided to hold a Conference on Asian Food and Agri Business, in Sri Lanka from 2nd to 5th August, 2016, under the theme of 'Innovation for enhancing the Productivity and Sustainability of Enterprises in Agri Business and Food Industry'. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to make arrangements to host the said Conference, was approved by the Cabinet.
