Formation of an Institution for Nation Development with Civil-Military Coordination

- The knowledge and resources possessed by the Tri Forces of Sri Lanka can be utilized easily for nation building and they are prepared to bear the responsibilities in respect of the nation building mechanism using their knowledge on various fields. As such, in order to make use of the resources, strength and training possessed by the Tri Forces for the overall national development and for the process of establishing peace, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to establish an Institution with Civil-Military coordination which functions on a mutual understanding with the civilian officers, was approved by the Cabinet.
