Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2016-06-21

Obtaining a Credit of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank for the Competitiveness, Transparency and Fiscal Sustainability Development Policy Financing (DPF) Programme

- The proposal made by the Prime Minister, Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to enter into a Financial Agreement to obtain a credit facility being equivalent of US$ 100 million from the International Development Association (IDA), for the proposed programme of Economic Development in Sri Lanka, through the implementation of the identified reforms under three (03) sectors for the purposes of removing the existing impediments for the competition in the Private Sector, improving transparency and management in the Public Sector and developing government's fiscal sustainability, was approved by the Cabinet.
