Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Bulgaria

- The total trade turnover between Sri Lanka and Bulgaria, which is a Member State of the European Union has increased up to US$ 7.75 million in the year 2015. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, to sign an Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Bulgaria, to search for new ways and means to enhance trade, investment and economic ties between the two countries and to have an inter-governmental mechanism to enhance cooperation between the two countries in identified new fields, was approved by the Cabinet.
