Southern Transport Development Project - Contract Package No.1 - Construction of Section from Pinnaduwa to Kodagoda (30.80 to 45.00 km) - utilization of the balance amount of the loan

- Steps have been taken to rehabilitate 11 local roads, coming under the project, by utilizing the balance amount of the loan received from the China EXIM Bank, for the construction of the South section of the Southern Expressway, from Pinnaduwa to Godagama and having taken into consideration that the period of validity of the loan will expire within a limited time, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to manage the required funds with a view to completing the said road rehabilitation activities, expeditiously, was approved by the Cabinet.
