Construction of a Building Complex for the Technical College, Vavuniya

- The Technical College established in Vavuniya District, of the Department of Technical Education and Training, functioning under the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training, offers 19 Technical Training Courses to the youth and the annual student intake is around 500. The space and other facilities available in the Technical College are inadequate and as such, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training, to construct a building complex for the said College, which comprises of lecture halls, workshops, residential quarters for officers, computer labs, a library and a water tank with other infrastructure facilities at an estimated cost of Rs.114 million, and to implement Capacity Building Programmes for the staff, at an estimated cost of Rs.04 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
