Completion of the activities of the Phase II of the Colombo Dental Institute Development Project
- In order to meet the increasing demand for dental health care services and also to cater to the needs of teaching facilities relevant to the dental medical field, it was planned to develop the Colombo Dental Institute as the State of the Art Technology in two phases. Accordingly, the first phase of the project has been completed by now and under the second phase it is proposed to construct a nine storey building, enhancing the facilities of the Out Patient Department (OPD), operation theaters, wards, X-Ray Department, stores, administrative and other units and establishing new facilities at the Laboratory. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon.(Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to complete the activities of the second phase of the Colombo Dental Institute Development Project, at an estimated cost of Rs.1,200 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
