Grants provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Maritime Safety Capacity Improvement

- The Government of Japan has agreed to provide 02 units of 30 meters long patrol vessels and other necessary assistance for the development of the capabilities of Sri Lanka Coast Guard through further enhancing their operations around the Sri Lankan coastal areas. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to obtain a grant of Japanese Yen 1,830,000,000 (approximately Rs.2,400 million) for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
