Construction activities of the proposed Building Complex with 17 Floors for the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Colombo

- Although the Cabinet approval had been given in the year 2000 for the construction of this building, the construction activites have been delayed due to various reasons. The pile foundation works required for the construction of the building have been commenced in the year 2014. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to construct this building at an estimated cost of Rs.5,688.5 million, was approved by the Cabinet in principle.
