Southern Transport Development Project - Implementation of three (03) new projects utilizing the balance provision of the contract for the construction of the Southern Section of the Southern Expressway from Pinnaduwa to Godagama

- The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to make use of the balance provision of the contract for the construction of the Southern Section of the Southern Expressway from Pinnaduwa to Godagama, amounting to Rs.1.93 billion, for the rehabilitation of 11 local roads, for the procurement of 04 Motor Vehicles for the Police and to renovate the slope failure at 114 km of the Southern Expressway, was approved by the Cabinet.
