Hosting the 16th World Export Development Forum by Sri Lanka - 12th & 13th October, 2016
- The World Export Development Forum is the annual flagship event of the International Trade Centre (ITC) which is a joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations. It is held with the participation of all worldwide stakeholders related to International Trade. The 16th World Export Development Forum is proposed to be organized jointly by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and the International Trade Centre on 12th and 13th October, 2016 in Colombo under the theme, 'Trade for Success: Connect, Compete, Change'. This Forum will contribute to highlight the country's openness towards International Trade and the prevailing friendly business environment. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Malik Samarawickrama, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Trade Centre and the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka to host the World Export Development Forum - 2016 by Sri Lanka, also with the financial contribution of the International Trade Centre, was approved by the Cabinet.
