The Programme under Implementation in 2016 in relation to the National Food Production Programme (2016-2018)

- The proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, H.E. the President to provide the seeds and planting materials during the Yala Season, free of charge, to attain the proposed self-sufficiency in the year 2016 by accelerating the National Food Production Programme (2016-2018) in an effort to further encourage cultivators for 'toxin' free cultivations and to provide them with facilities to sell the harvest and to direct, supervise and monitor the implementation of the programme as a whole and undertake follow up activities and progress review at Provincial, District and Divisional levels, was approved by the Cabinet.
