The Accelerated Program for the development of Middle Income Housing & Infrastructure

- A five year programme for providing houses for the middle income wage earners in urban and sub-urban areas, in all districts, has been launched with the assistance of the private sector, and it would be implemented within the next five years. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to establish a Programme Coordination Unit for the efficient implementation of the programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
