Payment of annual contribution to the Centre for Alleviation of Poverty through Sustainable Agriculture (CAPSA)

- The centre for Alleviation of Poverty through Sustainable Agriculture (CAPSA) is a sub-institution governed by the United Nations' Economic and Social Commission and the main objective of the institution is to provide policy inducement for member countries for the upliftment of the living standard of the rural people living on secondary crops and carrying out development activities on agriculture and research to alleviate poverty. Sri Lanka as a member of this centre has obtained the services pertaining to agricultural development and gained various other benefits. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture to continue to pay the annual membership fee as a member of this centre, was approved by the Cabinet.
