The Report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to submit the recommendations on relocation of families living in high risk areas prone to landslide

- A Cabinet Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management, was appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers, to study and report issues pertaining to the relocation of families living in high risk areas prone to landslides and expediting of the construction of houses for the persons who have been affected due to landslides. Accordingly, the implementation of the recommendations submitted, giving attention to matters such as identification of the number of families settled at landslide risk prone areas, resettling them in other places, provision of facilities to convert the disaster affected persons back to normalcy, re-establishment of public places such as schools situated in high risk prone areas, in stages, on priority basis, was approved by the Cabinet.
