Signing the SAARC Youth Charter

- The SAARC Youth Charter principally anticipates the promotion of health,well being, rights and potentials of the youth. In achieving the said objectives, it is also anticipated to expedite the national development through acquisition of knowledge of the youth in the South Asian region and to provide employment opportunities to all through the effective utilization of skills and opportunities while yielding benefits for the youth. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to sign and ratify the SAARC Youth Charter to be signed at the 36th Session of the SAARC Council of Ministers which will be held on 17th March, 2016 in Kathmandu, Nepal, by Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
