Transport connectivity and Asset Management Project to be funded by the World Bank

- The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to implement the rehabilitation of Peliyagoda - Puttlam Road, under the Output and Performance Based Contract (OPBC) which is presently being implemented for the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads in many countries of the World, by the Wold Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other international funding agencies, as a pilot project and to conduct negotiations with the World Bank to obtain the funds required for the above project, was approved by the Cabinet.
