Establishment of the National Salaries and Cadre Commission

- As per the pledge given in the Election Manifesto submitted by himself for the Presidential Election - 2015, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness in the entire Public Service and to uplift the living conditions and service satisfaction of the Public Servants, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, to appoint a New Salaries and Cadre Commission comprising of learned and experienced experts so as to represent all sectors of the Public Service and the Private Sector, to establish a more effective and satisfied Public Service, after broadly and formally reviewing the existing salary structure and cadre, taking into consideration the future development process to be launched by the Government, and to formulate a New Salary Policy giving due consideration to the manpower requirement of the Private Sector, was approved by the Cabinet.
