Membership Update of the Asia-Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) functioning under the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization

- The above Regional Co-operation Organization, established in the Asia-Pacific Region, pertaining to the activities and responsibilities on plant phytosanitary, is one of the organizations established under the International Plant Protection Commission (IPPC). This organization paves the way to study and discuss the problems encountered by each country on plant phytosanitary. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to update the membership of the Commission and to pay the annual contribution by the Government of Sri Lanka as a Member State of the Organization, was approved by the Cabinet.
