Vesting of a portion of land from the Siringapatha Farm belonging to the National Livestock Development Board, to the MILCO (Pvt) Ltd.

- MILCO (Pvt) Ltd. is the only milk-based food production factory, which holds shares totally owned by the General Treasury. A project is being implemented to establish a milk processing factory equipped with modern facilities at Badalgama area in place of the old factory of that company situated at Narahenpita. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harrison, the Minister of Rural Economy, to vest a block of land from the Siringapatha farm which belongs to the National Livestock Development Board, in extent of 35 acres, required for the purpose, with the MILCO (Pvt) Ltd., was approved by the Cabinet.
