Transfer of Stores Complex of Marandagahamula to the Paddy Marketing Board
- As per a Cabinet decision taken in the year 2014, the stores complex of around 61,000 Square feet, constructed by the Sri Lanka Engineering Corporation, at a cost of Rs.372 million, situated in the Marandagahamula village of the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat Division, and 110 stalls which are being constructed, have not yet been transferred formally to a specific management authority and those are being presently maintained without a proper management. With a view to facilitating the paddy purchasing programme of the Government, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harrison, the Minister of Rural Economy, to vest the said stores complex constructed by the Government, with the Paddy Marketing Board, to maintain and use the same properly, was approved by the Cabinet.
