The establishment of a National Science Centre

- The National Science Centre will be established in the proposed Science City to be constructed at Malabe as 'a National icon of Science', with the state of the art exhibits and facilities of international standards, which will empower and inspire our people to drive Sri Lanka towards prosperity through science, technology and innovation. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Susil Premajayantha, the Minister of Science, Technology and Research, to establish the National Science Centre of Sri Lanka consists of exhibition galleries in the areas such as wonders of the nature, agriculture, the earth, climate change and natural disasters, marvels of the human body, industrialization and technological revolutions, space and astronomy, indigenous and traditional knowledge and the pioneers in the field of science, was approved by the Cabinet.
