Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2016-01-27

Awarding the contract for the consultancy services for reviewing and approving of design and construction supervision of the construction of head works of the Kaluganga Reservoir to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB)

- Kaluganga Reservoir is designed to be constructed across Kaluganga, at a location downstream in Pallegama area of the Laggala electorate in Matale District. It is one of the main components of the Moragahakanda Kaluganga Project. Therefore, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to award the contract for the consultancy services for design review, approval and construction supervision of the head works of the Kaluganga Development Project, to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau for an estimated sum of Rs. 443 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
