Agreement for the Transfer of Sentenced Persons between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Islamic Republic of Iran

- Official discussions between the delegations of the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, to enter into an agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons between the two countries, were held in December 2015. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice, to enter into this agreement during the forthcoming official visit of the Minister of Justice of Iran to Sri Lanka and to make necessary arrangements for the ratification of the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
