Contributions to African - Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO)

- The main objective of the African - Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), which has been established in 1962, is to make better understanding among the member countries on problems and issues and to explore the opportunities and collaborative efforts, for sustainable agricultural and rural development. Sri Lanka has obtained the permanent membership of this organization in the year 2013. The Cabinet approved the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to make the annual contribution to that organization, taking into consideration the benefits could be gained by Sri Lanka, being a permanent member of this organization.
