Absorption of Officers of the Government Service into the Staff of the Election Commission

- The Chairman and the other members of the Election Commission, established by the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, have been appointed on the recommendations of the Constitutional Council and the said Commission is effective from 2015-11-17. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena, to assign the staff served in the Department of Elections at the time of the establishment of the Election Commission, to the said Commission, to carry out the duties vested in it, was approved by the Cabinet.
