'Let's Awaken Polonnaruwa' - District Development Programme 2016 - 2020

- The approval of the Cabinet has been granted to implement a Five Year Plan pertaining to the 'Let's Awaken Polonnaruwa' District Development Programme 2016 - 2020, for the upliftment of the living standards of the people living mainly in Polonnaruwa district and the districts adjoining the Polonnaruwa district. The Government of the People's Republic of China has agreed to provide funds required for the projects pertaining to the areas such as drinking water, highways, railways, agriculture and irrigation identified as priority and essential projects under that programme. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena, to proceed with the activities relevant to the above projects, was approved by the Cabinet.
