Appointing a Committee to receive Public Representations on Constitutional Reforms
- A Cabinet Sub-Committee on Constitutional Reforms was appointed at the Cabinet Meeting held on 2015-11-18, to conduct discussions for the introduction of a new Constitution. At a meeting of that Sub-Committee, it has been decided to appoint a Committee to receive public representations on Constitutional Reforms through both printed and electronic media. On the information submitted by the Prime Minister, Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Cabinet noted that a Committee comprising of 24 eminent persons will be appointed to receive public representations orally and that Committee will function in panels of 03 members and have simultaneous sittings in the different parts of the country and take action to receive public representations.
