Development of Batticaloa Airport

- Although a project has been initiated during the recent past to construct a Terminal Building and renovate the Airport Runaway, Taxiway and Apron at the Batticaloa Airport with the objective of developing it for commercial passenger services, the activities of the said project have not yet been completed. Therefore, in order to complete the relevant constructions expeditiously, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to assign the said activities to the Sri Lanka Air force, was approved by the Cabinet.
