The Project for the welfare of the women of the Ampara District who were affected by war

- The Entrepreneur Development Training Programme implemented by the then Ministry of Child Development and Women's Affairs in collaboration with the Indian Government, for the women of the Batticaloa District who were affected by war, has been highly successful and these women are engaged themselves in self-employment having been registered as a Cooperative Development Society. Considering the success of this project, it has been planned to implement a similar project in the Ampara District as well. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Chandrani Bandara, the Minister of Women and Child Affairs, to implement the above project for the welfare of the war affected women of the Ampara District, was approved by the Cabinet.
