Provision of lands in the Sacred Kalutara Bodhi Premises to the Kalutara Bodhi Trustee Board on a Long Term Lease Basis, under the State Land Ordinance

- The Kalutara Sacred Bodhi is venerated by thousands of Buddhist devotees of the Island. The entire premises where the Bodhi and the other places of worship such as Chaithya, Shrine room and the lower garden of the Bodhi situated consists with 07 blocks of land owned by the state in an extent of 3.41 hectares. These blocks of land are being developed by the Kalutara Bodhi Trustee Board from a long time. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. M.K.A.D.S. Gunawardana, the Minister of Lands, to provide these blocks of land to the Kalutara Bodhi Trustee Board on a long term Lease basis, was approved by the Cabinet.
