Construction and Modification of New Bus Stands / Terminals in Urban and Suburban Areas for the Qualitative Development of Transport Services - This programme is implemented with the objective of providing necessary transport services and essential infrastructure facilities to the passengers who daily travel to the cities, by creating a qualitative development in transport services through constructing new bus terminals/stands and modifying the existing bus terminals/stands in urban and suburban areas. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to construct new bus terminals/stands and to modify the existing bus terminals/stands in the following cities, under the said progrmame, was approved by the Cabinet: * construction of the Jaffna bus terminal - Rs.150 million. * construction of the Hingurakgoda bus terminal - Rs.60 million. * construction of the Medirigiriya bus terminal - Rs.25 million. * modification of the existing bus terminal at Kaduruwela - Rs.40 million. * modification of the existing bus terminal at Aralaganwila - Rs.05 million. |
