Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2015-12-02

Implementation of the Aluthgama, Mathugama and Agalawaththa Integrated Water Supply Project; Kunadasale-Haragama Water Supply Project and the Polgahawela, Pothuhera and Alawwa Integrated Water Supply Project

- The proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to obtain loan facilities for a sum amounting to US$ 403.01 million from the Export and Import (EXIM) Bank of India, for three projects, namely, for Aluthgama-Mathugama and Agalawaththa Integrated Water Supply Project US$164.9 million, for Kunadasale-Haragama Water Supply Project US$146.31million and for Polgahawela, Pothuheara and Alawwa Integrated Water Supply Project US$91.8 million and also to obtain a sum amounting to US$54.44 million from the General Treasury as local funds, was approved by the Cabinet.
