The Phase II of the Project for the Supply of Equipment of High Quality Radiotherapy with High Energy Radiation including the Infrastructure for Cancer Patients in Sri Lanka
- The supply of equipment of high quality radiotherapy with high energy radiation and the construction of appropriate buildings to install these equipment are carried out under this project. Under the first phase of this project, the relevant buildings are being constructed at the National Cancer Institute - Maharagama, Teaching Hospital - Jaffna , Teaching Hospital - Karapitiya, Teaching Hospital - Kandy and the Teaching Hospital -Batticaloa. The proposal made by Hon. Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to construct the radiation protective buildings required for the cancer centres at the hospitals of; Teaching Hospital - Anuradhapura, District General Hospital - Hambantota, General Hospital - Badulla, Teaching Hospital - Kurunegala and the General Hospital - Ratnapura, under the Second Phase of the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
