Vesting the land where the Akuressa Bus Stand is presently situated with the Urban Development Authority (UDA)

- The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has acquired an extent of about 13 acres of land owned by the Land Reform Commission to implement the proposed development plan for the Akuressa Town. According to the said development plan, it is proposed to remove the bus stand from the place where it is presently situated and to establish it in a portion of the newly acquired land. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to vest the land where the Akuressa bus stand presently situated with the UDA, as a free grant, to enable it to be used for commercial purposes, was approved by the Cabinet.
